1. Tree Ownership & Authority
The client warrants that they are the legal owner of the tree(s) subject to the quotation or have obtained written authorisation from the property owner or relevant authority to carry out the requested works.
Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd accepts no responsibility for works undertaken on trees where the client does not hold lawful authority. By accepting a quotation, the client agrees to indemnify Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd against any claims, penalties, fines, legal costs, or damages arising from unauthorised or unlawful tree works performed at the client’s direction.
2. Permits & Council Approvals
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all required council approvals, permits, or exemptions are obtained prior to works commencing, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd will not be liable for delays, penalties, or enforcement actions resulting from missing or invalid permits.
3. Underground & Overhead Services
Where works are required near underground or overhead services (including but not limited to water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, or irrigation), Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd will propose a safe working method.
If the client elects to proceed with works where services may be at risk, all liability for damage rests with the client unless otherwise required by law. The client must identify and clearly mark all known services prior to commencement.
4. Insurance
Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd maintains the following insurance coverage:

Public Liability: $20,000,000

Statutory Liability: $1,000,000

Errors & Omissions: $250,000
Certificates of currency are available upon request.
5. Cancellations
Cancellations made after booking confirmation may incur a 10% cancellation fee, excluding cancellations due to unsafe or unfavourable weather conditions as determined by Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd.
6. Pruning Standards
All pruning works are carried out in accordance with Australian Standard AS 4373-2007 – Pruning of Amenity Trees.
Pruning methods may include thinning, crown lifting, crown reduction, or weight reduction, with careful consideration given to tree health, structure, natural form, and site conditions.
7. Tree Removal
Tree removal includes cutting the tree down as close to ground level as reasonably possible, subject to site conditions such as soil composition, rocks, fencing, buildings, or other structures.
Exact stump height cannot be guaranteed where access or conditions restrict equipment use.
8. Clean-Up
Unless otherwise specified in writing, clean-up includes removal of logs, branches, leaves, and general debris generated by the works.
The work area will be raked; however, minor residual sawdust, leaves, or twigs may remain.
9. Stump Grinding
Stump grinding involves mechanical reduction of the visible stump below ground level. Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd is not responsible for damage to underground services unless they have been clearly identified and disclosed by the client prior to works commencing.
The resulting stump chips will be used to backfill the hole, with excess material left on site unless otherwise agreed.
10. Quotation Validity
All quotations are valid for 60 days from the date of issue.
If acceptance occurs after this period, Boss Tree & Stump Services Pty Ltd reserves the right to amend pricing to reflect changes in costs, access conditions, or scope of works.
11. Payment Terms
Payment is due within 7 days of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods include EFT, cash, or other agreed methods.
Overdue accounts may incur interest at 5% per annum. Any costs associated with debt recovery, including legal or collection agency fees, will be payable by the client.
12. Firewood
Unless otherwise quoted, timber will be cut into 300–400mm (12”–16”) lengths, left unsplit, and stacked on site for client use.
